Ford Tri-Motor Rides and viewing all weekend !
Thursday June 13th 2pm-5pm
Daily Friday – Sunday 9am-5pm
The Ford Tri-Motor is brought to you by the generous support of:
Father’s Day Flight Breakfast Sunday 7am-11am
Area businesses and organizations are helping us bring a piece of Quincy history to the Quincy Airport this Father’s Day weekend!
You might not know that the first ‘airliner’ was the Ford Trimotor and it was designed, built and first operated by Quincy native, William Bushnell Stout! Since there are only three flying Tri-motors left, this s a rare opportunity to not only see but to actually get to ride in this flying time capsule.
Our chapter is bringing this aircraft to Quincy over the Father’s Day weekend but your support is needed. We have to raise $5000 to cover the cost of fuel and crew expenses to get this historic aircraft to Quincy and out again. Your business can help by sponsoring the tour stop. $1500 sposorships get you a private flight in this restored piece of history. You can take a total of 10 people on your private flight. Reward employees, hold a customer contest, reward customers, you name it!
Please check our special Tri-Motor page for more information.
To book a flight or for more information about the aircraft visit flytheford.org or call 877-952-5395.
If you are at all interested in this project, please leave your contact information below.

Patio Restaurant, Quincy, IL
We have reserved a small private dining room at the Patio Restaurant at 133 South Fourth Street and dinner will be served family style – Broasted Chicken, roast beef, potatoes and vegetable.
Ice cream dessert is included for $13.00 per person. Please bring cash or check payable EAA Chapter 488 and we’ll write one check to the restaurant. Drinks are extra & payable directly to the Patio. We’ll start arriving around 6:30pm and dinner will be served by 7pm. A short chapter awards program will follow the meal if we get them in time.
Reservations are REQUIRED. We actually ran short of food in past years due to a miscount, so please RSVP with number attending or if you won’t be able to join us. Anyone not heard from by Dec 10, we’ll be contacting you to follow up so please get your response in by then to save a lot of work.
Just a quick reminder that the EAA Chapter 488 Fall picnic is this Sunday, Oct 14th at 1:00pm.
Like last year, the event will be held at the AirUSA hangar among the jets. There is no charge for this picnic for chapter members and their guests but RSVP is REQUIRED! by Friday Oct 12th. Call Andy at work at 217-223-3050 or sign up here:
There is usually an informal tour of whatever is around the hangar.
Pat and Carl Tortorige will again be picking up food for our catered event.
Many members also open their hangars or bring aircraft around for a little show and tell.
You can use the ‘second’ east entrance to Quincy Airport and follow the road to the small parking area behind AirUSA hangar. See image below.
